PM Lee reiterates the immense potential of the Singapore Greater Southern Waterfront on several occasions, including the National Day Rally in 2019.  First announced in 2013, the Singapore Greater Southern Waterfront comprises 30 km of coastline stretching from the Gardens by the Bay East area to Pasir Panjang. That stretch of Singapore Greater Southern Waterfront contains 2,000 ha of land – six times the size of Marina Bay and twice the size of the town of Punggol.

This piece of prime land in will be freed up for redevelopment after PSA moves its city terminals in Tanjong Pagar, Keppel and Pulau Brani to Tuas by 2027, as well as Pasir Panjang terminal by 2040.

Keppel Club will become one of the first new housing developments in the Singapore Greater Southern Waterfront after its announcement.

The Keppel Club has its lease expiring and sits on a 44 ha plot.  It is in between two MRT stations and near the Labrador Nature Reserve.

Singapore Greater Southern Waterfront And It’s Immense Potential

The development of the site will blend in seamlessly to its existing context and topography. It will also be adhering to a comprehensive green and blue plan that will complement the nearby Berlayer Creek and Labrador Park in The Greater Southern Waterfront. The neighbourhood will be easily walkable, and well connected to public transport nodes and amenities.

From Pasir Panjang to Marina East, The Greater Southern Waterfront, will be transformed into a new major gateway. It will be the new location for urban living along Singapore’s southern coast.

The Greater Southern Waterfront Development will take place in phases, starting with the former Pasir Panjang Power District, Keppel Club and Mount Faber in the next 5 to 10 years.
